KWXC 88.9 FM is a non-profit Christian Talk Radio station on air since May 18, 2008.
17 years ago this month KWXC went live on air! I (Travis) was at a gathering a couple of weeks back when someone asked how long the station had been on the air. That's when I realized that this month marks 17 years of broadcasting God's precious Word on KWXC 88.9FM. When I uttered the words "17 years" my acquaintance replied "What a legacy." I couldn't agree more. ![]()

Darrel Martin (aka Dad) started with a dream and ended with a calling. He took the faithful first steps in establishing KWXC. Not only did he take the first steps but also the immense risks to his own wellbeing, cashing in his meager savings and mortgaging the house to erect the tower, mount the antenna and drive to Texas to buy a "really used" transmitter. ![]()

Instead of a lump sum of money or numerous underwriters as a blessing in those precarious early days, he received a leukemia diagnosis instead. He was unphased by the news, if anything, it made him more determined. Many of us confused by his singular determination to "finish the job." ![]()

However, God had prepared others in our community to come alongside him in his time of need. Quiet, faithful individuals heeding their own callings and lending the help we so desperately needed and still need to this day. ![]()

After 10 years of establishing and maintaining the station, dad was called home, his journey and calling completed. Though scared, everyone (you know who you are) labored to keep the station on the air so that the Gospel could continue to be heard. The continual administration, the equipment upgrades and the storms (oh the storms!) kept steady pressure on us while trying to complete the mission. Yet God has faithfully provisioned his commission. Though Dad planted the seed; volunteers, underwriters and listeners watered it and Almighty God gave the increase.![]()

With this I would like to say to all those who have donated time, prayers (often lengthy ones) and funds to KWXC that you have an equal part in this legacy, each of your labors instrumental, and we pray you receive the blessings associated with spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. ![]()

Hi everyone. You'll notice we're not on the air right now. We have climbers on the tower installing a new safety climbing system. Whenever we have climbers in close proximity to the antenna we must power off for their personal safety. We unfortunately are going to have some downtime tomorrow as well. However, if the weather permits, the great guys from Precision Communications here in Grove will be installing our new antenna!! ![]()
Our current antenna has been in use for almost 20 years and was beginning to show its age. When the time came to replace it God miraculously used a handful of people to purchase a new one. ![]()
After a six week build time and having it shipped from Pennsylvania, the new antenna has finally arrived. We are so grateful to God for his provision and to the donors who heeded His call to give. ![]()
Lastly, I would like to remind everyone that just because our tower/antenna is off the air that doesn't mean our programming is. You can always listen online at kwxcradio.com/listen-live, on the TuneIn radio app, Alexa smart speakers and we just got our very own station app for both Google and Apple devices.![]()
Please pray that the installation goes safely for all the men involved and that we'd be back on the air as quickly as possible.![]()

The wind has affected us here at KWXC as the power just went out. Due to the large amperage draw from the transmitter, our UPS(Universal Power Supply) can only keep it going for about 5 minutes before it shuts down. ![]()
However, you should be able to keep listening to us online for the next half hour to an hour as the studio UPS is sized much better to meet the demands of the satellite receiver, computers, audio processor and whatnot. ![]()
Please pray that we can get power restored soon and that the linemen, firefighters, police and first responders out in these conditions stay safe and protected by God's merciful hand. ![]()
We're also becoming more aware of the multiple wildfires occurring across Oklahoma, straight line wind damage in Texas as well as the storms now around Springfield, Mo. We encourage everyone to pray for those now affected by these events and for those who are about to encounter more from this storm system overnight. May we all be on the ready to lend physical aid where needed to those impacted by this storm system. Stay safe and may God bless, keep and protect your families.
